About Me

Hi, my name is Ekta Bhojwani.

I’m a chemical engineer-turned-digital marketeer with a focus an obsession for e-commerce & mobile startups. Here’s my official-ish bio:

Ekta enjoys combining her love for numbers and technology along with rigorous experience in analysis, economics, and due diligence for future projects. She specializes in using data to determine and balance business needs, technology and product management/ UX.

She is currently responsible for Growth & Marketing at Wally – the smart personal finance app. Prior to that, she was the Head of Marketing at Tejuri.com, as well as the Founding Marketing Manager at Mumzworld.com- both MENA-based E-Commerce websites. Before entering marketing, Ekta worked as an engineer in the Oil & Gas industry with experience in economic and ROI analysis, risk analysis and mitigation, CAPEX planning and OPEX reduction.

Ekta completed her BS in Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology, after graduating as the valedictorian of the American School of Dubai.

In my free time I enjoy blogging about fashion, lifestyle and entertainment. I do this under the moniker “Dollz” at my very girlie blog – Dollz in Dubai.

So why another blog?

It seems like I have a never ending stream of thoughts in my head and this would be a good place to put them down and share with the world. Some people find my thoughts to be educational and rarely inspirational, so I’m hoping some of that will filter through over here. And who doesn’t enjoy a little vanity, hence the self-named domain name. I also might as well claim the the organic links leading to my name and do some personal SEO!

Here I’ll be mostly writing about the more “intellectual” things in life, namely technology, digital marketing and my experiences in the working world. For the fun stuff, you can always visit the other blog.

I’m a pretty open person, so if you want to ask a question, say something nice or complain, feel free to drop me a line.

This site is a work-in-progress, so bear with me while I get it up to spec!

Keeping Up to Date

There are a few habits that stick with you from childhood and beyond. My parents always encouraged me to read the newspaper everyday (perhaps they had heard of it being a common trait successful people do in the morning). I kept that habit until the end of high school but unfortunately as time went on, keeping up-to-date […]

52 Books in 2015

We might be midway through March but I’ve been wanting to blog about one of my experiences of last year. And since better late than never, here we go. As the title suggests, I made the audacious resolution of reading 52 books in 2015. And somehow, I managed to keep that resolution and read 52 new books […]

Happy Birthday Twitter

While today is Mother’s Day, it also marks another important day: the 10th birthday of Twitter. With #TwitterMemories and #LoveTwitter becoming trending topics today, I decided to take a walk down memory lane with my fellow Twitterarti. It’s no secret that I love Twitter (with Snapchat picking up second place). I joined Twitter back in early 2009 as […]

Well-Played: Vox Cinemas on Snapchat

More often than not, I’m not a fan of regional marketing campaigns. But once in a while, I spot something well-done and I feel it needs to be acknowledged. And this week it’s Vox Cinema’s Snapchat account. I’m personally a bit obsessed with Snapchat these days and have turned into a bit of an Evan […]

On the Other Blog: Huawei Honor 6+ Review

While my other blog is focused on the more froofy, lifestyle-related topics, I occasionally do some tech-related blogging. This week I’ve reviewed Huawei’s Honor 6+ smartphone.
